Who We Are

Creating amazing meals has the power to bring people together, creating memories that can last a lifetime.

Our Mission

It’s the Little Things Community provides home style meals and acts of kindness to the vulnerable, displaced and disadvantaged in our community.

Our support extends to women and children escaping domestic violence, those experiencing homelessness, individuals dealing with mental health challenges, and families with seriously ill children.

We believe in the power of connecting communities by uniting volunteers, schools, and businesses with our outreach partners to achieve a shared vision.

Meet Our Team

Jane and Grant Co-Founders

Giving some time, energy, and empathy to others in need is sometimes all that is required to change someone’s life. It was this motivation that sparked the creation of It’s the Little Things Community.

Our cofounders were guided by the belief that a simple actβ€”a homestyle meal lovingly prepared and thoughtfully sharedβ€”can bring more than just nourishment. It can offer comfort, connection, and a sense of dignity. They saw firsthand how moments of kindness, shared around the familiarity of a homestyle meal, could uplift those facing immense challenges.

This belief became the foundation of our mission: to deliver homestyle meals and meaningful gestures of kindness to vulnerable, displaced, and disadvantaged individualsβ€”especially women and children escaping domestic violence, people experiencing homelessness, those navigating mental health struggles, and families with seriously ill children. More than a meal, each act is a reminder that someone cares.

Our cofounders also believed in the power of communityβ€”uniting volunteers, schools, businesses, and outreach partners to surround those in crisis with a circle of support. From this vision, It’s the Little Things Community was born: a grassroots movement grounded in empathy, driven by community spirit, and fueled by the healing power of homestyle meals and human connection.

Our Amazing Volunteers

We couldn’t exist without our volunteers.

They are not only sensational cooks, delivery drivers and all-round caring people, they have become a part of the Itltc family where we have fun and enjoy each other’s company. Becoming a group of friends sharing a common goal and common sense of purpose.

Nia Engagement Manager

Nia fell into a role in emergency relief completely by accident and it opened her eyes to a world she knew so little about. Through the pandemic, Nia saw the incredible void that exists in food insecurity and how it impacts so much of our lives. Through It’s the Little Things Community Nia has been able to assist in addressing that void in the hope of building a better community.

Alice Community Relations Coordinator

Alice has been an active community member for as long as she can remember, guided by a belief that kindness has the ability to link us all together. Various voluntary roles have provided opportunities for meeting people, sharing ideas and discovering what we can achieve together. Providing a meal or doing something to make someone’s day makes such a difference and she considers it a privilege to be able to do that as part of the It’s the Little Things Community team.

Luisa Engagement Coordinator

Luisa brings warmth and heart to her role as Engagement Coordinator, fuelled by a passion for building meaningful connections within the community. A natural flair for bringing people together, she thrives on creating spaces where everyone feels seen, valued and inspired to give back. Luisa believes that even the smallest gesture of kindness can spark real change, and she feels deeply honoured to help amplify those moments through her work with It’s the Little Things Community.

Sue Grants & Community Liaison

Sue is passionate about nurturing community connections and opening doors through her role as Grants and Community Liaison. With a strong background in advocacy and program development, she is driven by a desire to make support more accessible for those who need it most. Alongside securing vital funding through grants, Sue plays a key role in growing our school programβ€”fostering partnerships that encourage students to experience the impact of kindness firsthand. She’s inspired every day by the ripple effect that care and compassion can have across generations.
